My next undertaking in my art adventure, this time I wanted to push myself to do a lot of muscles and try to get a better handle on character forms. I could think of no better subject and recipient for this than Krinkels and his character Hugo Kardex, who is a wolf mercenary and (I like to imagine) professional pugilist too. He's also, as his jockstrap indicates, a very special doggo.
I'm pleased as punch with how this one turned out, and definitely feel like I'm getting a lot more comfortable and confident with some of the techniques I am practicing. I'm pretty happy with how the lighting turned out, and I'm thrilled with the overall physique and line work on this one. Honestly, I'm just plain proud of how this piece turned out overall and I'm pretty stoked and wanted to share!
I've learned a ton from a few artists who have been very helpful and patient with me and I greatly appreciate you all; I've also been endeavoring to absorb a lot of lighting technique watching Malificus during art streams and I definitely feel like that has been paying off.
As with my prior journeys of art discovery and experimentation, I kept a lot of little snapshots along the way and made an animated gif showing how it all progressed if you'd curious to see: http://i.imgur.com/lGzwa4i.gifv
