Got two books on cartooning from my grandmother, and I liked the style one drew animals in. I used their base guide with my own twist. Only used the guide as a reference for the pose with the scythe, and then picked it up from there.

Kyte - The Pocket Foxbunny (I also got pastels in a nifty wooden box with Kyte and art related quotes laser engraved on the front. Yeah, it's awesome. Will probably never get around to taking pics though.
