Okay, I'm starting to think the universe is just messing with me now. An embarrassing death is bad enough, but most people don't have to read about it next morning! And they can't even spell my name right!

Art belongs to lixeon who came up with this awesome little scenario, too!

Her post: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/18202783/

Grace is mine.

'technicly' unless ive missed some detail your not immortal, not in the truest sense but yeah that can be embarasing reading your own obituary after having woken up...it has to make for interesting conversations with the various financial instintutions too haveing to explain that just casue you dont have a pulse for a day or 2 doesnt mean you should freeze the acounts...
weve seen some of the more...grusome, ends that grace has suffered, but what of this end of the spectrum...what i sthe most 'embarasing' way shes checked out i wonder.

Probably not, but it's a handy word and it hits close enough to the mark, I think. It gets the idea across without having to go into long-winded explanations every time. Anyway, she can't die of disease or age, so if she could just keep away from people who want to murder her she'd probably qualify.

I haven't really put too much thought into the legal/financial things of her serial deaths. She's officially stateless, though, so she likely doesn't have to deal with too much of that. She carries everything she owns in her pockets, when she has pockets.

doesn't that get her in trouble i mean most countires in a modern seting have this issue with unregistered citizens....then again shes a being under a magical curse in a world where its very clear magic isnt exactly common so im gonna go out on a limb and say most officials that dont like headaches would prefer to just ignore her so long as she stays out of trouble [which she seems to have trouble doing]

Officially, Grace doesn't live in a modern setting. She hails from a fantasy medieval world where it's much harder for legal entities to keep track of that sort of thing. The kinds of trouble she gets into isn't the kind that the nobility cares much about, in a land that's subject to frequent wars and the odd invasion, and if she doesn't pay taxes, she isn't entitled to any sort of official legal protection, either. I imagine her tendency to come back to life does factor in to these things as well. I can't imagine what sort of headaches that might cause for anyone who might decide to pursue a murder case, if the victim is all fine and dandy the next day.

As for the newspaper headline, I don't have the faintest idea. I just handed lixeon my ref and she did the rest!

odd...i always asumed she was in a modern seting...most of the pictures ive seen of her involve such though ill admit to not haveing read the stories...yet...

That's mostly because, up until pretty recently, I didn't really have a definite setting for her. It wasn't until my friend

and I worked together to create a daughter for Grace and one of Megan's characters that I started to work on refining things a bit more. It helps that Megan has been kind enough to let me shoe-horn Grace into her story world as well.

Plus, when it comes to freebies and things like that, I think most artists just tend to assume characters live in more or less the real world. So some of Grace's earliest pictures had that sort of vibe, and since I had no other refs, the effect just kinda snowballed.

also meant to ask before but...how does someone die as a result of a yo yo 'and' a pinapple...the yo yo i can see, theres several ways you could potentialy die from one of those, strangled by the string, triped on it and went face first into something nasty, somehow ended up with it lodged in the throat...

Well... hopefully we'll get to see her try that trick.

Prequel reference?

It's an elder scrolls oblivion based webcomic.

The main character, Katia Managan; has been reported to do a sexual act involving a pinapple and a yo-yo.
Would suggest checking it out. Good read and some fun little flash games with it.

Oh, I see. Well maybe that's what the artist was thinking of, I don't know. I just handed her my ref, carte blanche, and she did the rest.

wonder if she cynically grades these reports like, "close, but still not as creative as THAT time. 6/10 above average, try harder."

And here's something that just now popped to mind... has Grace ever investigated her own death?

(Plus for that: being a canid, or at least caniform, means that you have a CSI lab in your nostrils!)

I have some disjointed bones that could make for a bit of backstory to the respawning fox...

No, she never has. The fact that she forgets the last 48 hours prior to each death kind of complicates things like that. She can usually tell how she died by what parts of her hurt when she resurrects. A sore throat if she's lynched, for example. But unless someone keeps her captive for more than two days, she wouldn't even know where to begin most of the time. That said, it's not entirely out the realm of possibility, given the right circumstances and a story like that might be fun if you wanted to try it.

Curiously, she does remember her original death that started this whole mess. But given that she was brutally executed in a bloody coup, there's not a lot she could do even if she could find her way back to her old home.
