Shadow was made 35 years before being a hedgehog was awesome, what's more, his prototype is THE FUCKING BIOLIZARD! So! Why the hell would Gerald make the huge jump from the reptilian Biolizard? Why indeed?
My friend Spencer, the guy who's writing Tales of Heroes with me, noted that Shadow only ever takes two of his power restrictors off--he leaves the ones on his feet. Spencer wanted to examine what would happen if he did.
Me, I think he's a dragon. Prolly he shape-shifted into something slightly more "cuddly" for Maria, then stayed a hedgehog after she died. But yeah, this was me playing with dragon designs.
The whole "Shadow the Ultimate Life" thing is because when you fight the Biolizard the first time, his description is, "Prototype to the Ultimate Life."
