since I am really liking my astronomy class, I am deciding to do a couple (or maybe a whole series) of publicly acceptable picture series. I doubt I'll get any done on a regular basis, as I also have a few other projects to catch up on. this was done during my Astronomy 110 class during the break between lecture and lab. the story I wrote when I got home. make sure to follow it or let me know what you like / dislike!

Commander: Commander Spacecat Richardson
Location: Terrestrial planet – Mars
Coordinates: Syrtis Major, Sector 4
Log entry:
We have made a successful landing on the Martian surface, although it appears a dust storm is on the way. My crew and I have set up the forward operating posts so far and can report the habitat is liveable. We have secured the additional cargo brought with us from Aristotle III and have covered the containers with tarps as per policy. The crew consists of nine members, myself included and our
mission is to build and maintain the five new habitats for future colonization by members of Earth.
We currently have enough food to last our crew 280 days without rationing but we expect to have food production available in the next two weeks, with live plants being grown within the Martian soil.
Nearly 300 years ago to the day we are told none of this would have been possible but we shall make it a reality. If all else fails, we are to make the journey back home in the Aristotle IV orbiter.
A fellow crew member took this picture I send with this message of myself, as I began my inspections of the airlock and life support systems outside. I must make sure these systems are in functional order before the sandstorm strikes, as this one is expected to last several weeks.
