14 hours, 7 layers, using the watercolour brush in ArtRage. It's a fan painting of Elisabeth Sladen (Sarah Jane Smith), of Doctor Who fame. Ms. Sladen passed away the 19th April, 2011 from cancer; she was 63. I love the programme, so figured that I would do something in memory of such a wonderful actress. The two pictures are (inset) Sarah Jane Smith with K-9 (during the 70's run of Doctor Who) and (main) The Doctor (David Tennant) and Sarah Jane Smith saying a fond farewell. I used photos from the BBC website as references.

Sarah Jane: "I always thought that if you died I would feel it somehow. Isn't that silly?"
Doctor: "Oh, I don't know. If that day ever happens, I think the whole universe would shiver."

This was very sad news. She was a brilliant actress, it was unfair for her to have to leave this earth so soon.

I think that quote is apt when applied to her own death, as from all that I've seen her death has hit pretty much everyone harder then Nic's did.

That was my thought exactly. It also happens to be the episode I was watching on the bbciplayer that very morning, which is quite a coincidence. o_o;

It was something special when she reapered in Dr. Who and got an own Spin-off. 63 year is still too early to die. :(

Agreed. Her appearing in a few Doctor Who episodes and vice versa tied not only the old Doctor Who in with the new even more, but also tied her series and Doctor Who together as well, which made them all...better, somehow. At least to me. n_n

I think a part of K9 should be put together with in her grave. After all she was its last owner. K9 watching her, even during her eternal sleep. What do you think of that idea?
