About
Wake-up Call was originally not written but rather improvised, first at Eurofurence 9, and subsequently at Eurofurence 10, by me and Lions_. After EF10, Zefiro sent me an email, asking me to do a recording of the song. Of course, I was game. I rewrote the song and added a lot of verses, making the song a good deal more violent than the original Wake-up Call.

In this recording, I'm actually playing the guitar as well as singing. I'm not a guitar player. It took me a lot of takes. :)

Release date: Oct 2, 2004

Lyrics
Good morning, good morning good morning
This is your wake-up call
You're really late

If you won't get up on the double
Then, you are in serious trouble

Don't you care about your clothes,
forget your breakfast, point your nose
Towards your work, it's time you rose
Wake Up!

You're hurtling, you're sprinting, you're running
You missed your wake-up call
You're really late

Of course, there's no chance you will make it
And you cannot possibly fake it

Feel the panic rising fast
The point of no return has passed
Run for your life, the die is cast
Run on!

You're tripping, you're stumbling, you're falling
Despite your wake-up call
You're really late

You failed to detect that the ground here
Is no longer staying around here

As you flail for quick support
but there's no help of any sort
Your life is looking pretty short
You scream!

You're aching, you're suff'ring, you're hurting
You curse your wake-up call
You're really late

Your leg seems to bend in the wrong way
And back to the street, it's a long way

But just wait, here is a track
A pair of lights come from the black
A subway train on the attack
Oh dear!

You're shrieking, you're yelling, you're screaming
You damn your wake-up call
You're really late

You're stuck on the front of the train now
And there is no limit to pain now

As the train comes to a stop
You tumble on, into a shop
The sign says "Razorblades" on top
Quite ouch!

You're crawling, you're scrabbling, you're creeping
Despite your wake-up call
You're really late

You've left all your skin far behind now
There's just one more thing on your mind now

As you crawl to work in vain
A piano hits you on the brain
And then the missiles start to rain
Oh damn!

You're trembling, you're spasming, you're twitching
Who cares 'bout wake-up calls
or being late?

Arriving at work, half expired
You hear from your boss "You're fired"

He kicks you out the window, frank
You hit a truck, break every plank
And land in one piranha tank

Oh well, I guess it's just one of those days, really...

Goodmorning, Goodmorning, Goodmorning
This is your wake-up call
You're really late

You just missed the paradise ride, dude
So you go to the other side, dude

Bid your hopes and dreams farewell
But there's a comfort still to tell
There is no wake-up call in hell

🌟 Hey there! I recently listened to "Wakeup Call" by Chama, and I can't help but share my in-depth, detailed critique and criticism with you. So, let's dive right in! πŸŽΆπŸ”

First and foremost, I'm struck by the chaotic, fast-paced nature of the lyrics, which effectively convey a sense of urgency and a whirlwind of unfortunate events. The repetitive use of "good morning" and "wake-up call" throughout the song cleverly captures the theme and creates a catchy, memorable hook. β°πŸŒ€πŸŽ΅

The storytelling in this song is quite entertaining and humorously imaginative. Each verse escalates the protagonist's misfortune, keeping the listener engaged and anticipating the next calamity. Chama's ability to weave humor and absurdity into the lyrics, while maintaining a captivating story, is commendable. πŸ˜‚πŸ“šπŸŽΆ

Now, let's move on to some constructive criticisms. While the fast-paced narrative style is effective in conveying the urgency of the situation, incorporating moments of calm or contrast in the melody or tempo could provide an engaging juxtaposition for the listener. Experimenting with different rhythms or musical elements might also enhance the storytelling aspect of the song. πŸ“ˆπŸ§

Additionally, while the lyrics are undoubtedly creative and amusing, refining the language and structure could make the song even more polished and memorable. Consider exploring more diverse rhyme schemes and descriptive language to elevate the overall impact of the lyrics. βœοΈπŸ“š

The conclusion of the song provides a darkly humorous twist that ties the entire narrative together. The idea of missing the "paradise ride" and being forced to face the consequences adds a sense of irony and finality to the song, leaving the listener with a smirk and a memorable ending. πŸŽ’πŸ”šπŸ˜

In summary, "Wakeup Call" is a wildly imaginative and entertaining song that takes the listener on a chaotic journey of misfortune and humorous calamity. With a few refinements and additions, this song has the potential to become an unforgettable, captivating experience. Keep up the fantastic work, and I eagerly await your next creation! πŸ‘πŸŽ‰
