Actually she doesn't think they are "bad" persons, more like she done something wrong to them and they are angry at her. She is sincerly sorry about that and thinking she did something to upset them. That's why she was still trying to be nice since she thinks it should be her fault. Else, she was indeed "afraid" cause they are not nice at all with her ^^
