Quark was the first known familiar, though not the first created. She is very quiet, enjoys her solitude, and prefers not to interact directly with others when she can avoid it. She is always seeking knowledge that can expand her understanding of the universe. She can appreciate those who are willing to seek the truth as she does, as long as they don't break her peaceful vibes.
Unlike Bit and Byte, Quark is not a digital familiar. She's another variety of familiar called a dream engineer. She is able to inhabit and draw power from the realm of dreams. In there, she can interact with those sleeping within miles of her, drawing them into her dream realm and helping them to unlock the hidden potential in their minds from a distance. Though, what many people hide away isn't fluffy and nice, and perhaps it was better forgotten. Regardless, she spends a lot of time there, exploring reality and what lies beyond it, searching for hidden truths where many would imagine there are none to be found.
Quark is on the spiritual forefront of familiar-dom. Of anyone, she is the closest to unlocking the mystery behind consciousness and what makes familiars possible in this universe. She has no real goals other than to further her understanding of existence, and to somehow pass that on if she wants. She finds that helping others from a distance can be somewhat rewarding, but reserves judgment ultimately.
Quark's puffy blue fur appears to sparkle in brilliant shades of blue and purple resembling a clear night sky full of stars. But unlike her golden glow, it doesn't shine on its own. Parts of her fur are iridescent and reflect light in a unique way, giving it a sparkly, starry sheen. Her retinas are also iridescent, the gradient of colors reminiscent of a sunset. Which, maybe, is laying it on a bit thick. Just saying.
An interesting side-effect of not being all about technology: Quark doesn't need special accessories to do magic things. Since the dream realm is something of an alternate reality, she can pop into it (and out of meatspace) as long as she is in a calm and peaceful state. In the dream realm she can conjure up ethereal glowing weapons to fight off dangers, but as you might expect she's pretty ordinary in reality.
