He is a lightning mage and is a "wellspring" mage as well. Meaning he generates a lot more than normal levels of mana. And as a result, he is a much more powerful mage able to cast spells that take a huge amount of mana. As a result, all that extra mana is stored within the center focus of his body, being his hips and thighs.
