On September 30, 2012, one of the brightest lights in the furry fandom went out. Jonathan Albers, aka, PandaGuy, passed away after loosing his battle with diabetes and kidney problems. He died almost a month after Mephit FurMeet. Here is a memorial site for him: http://pandaguy.com/index.php/interests/furry-fandom/
PandaGuy loved big red balloons. When he wasn't in suit, he spent his time sitting in a chair near the elevators, blowing up and giving away big balloons!
Due to work related and personal issues, I was not able to attend MFM until 2015. Just before the fursuit parade,
, BJ Buttons, and I had a memorial for PandaGuy. I asked BJ to blow up two red balloons for this tribute.
1. Jimmy took one of the balloons, and put it on PandaGuy's chair. 2. I knelt down beside his chair and cried... (When Jimmy showed me this picture on his camera, I lost it and cried for a minute.) 3. I put on a brave face, and participated in the Fursuit Parade. 4. After the parade, I stepped outside the front of the hotel. BJ stood with Jimmy while Jimmy took these pictures. 5. BJ warned me there was an airport nearby. I wanted to be sure I wasn't gonna accidentally destroy a plane. 6. I said a prayer to Jesus to care for PandaGuy. 7. I let the balloons go, so PandaGuy could receive them in Heaven. 8. I will miss PandaGuy, and I will never forget him... :_(

I believe I remember you telling me about this man. My condolences for this loss of your friend and such a good addition to your communities (fursuit and bawoonz, of course).

Am very happy to see this tribute. He was a sweety. Thanks to his furmeets here I met lots of wonderful furs. Wish I had gotten to spend more time with him. Only ran into him once at a con. Every other time was his picnics at Glen Echo. I still miss him, as do many.

Thank you for saying this was a good tribute for him. I wanted to do this on a mega scale (every fursuiter in the parade release balloons) on the MFM after his passing, but I wasn't allowed to go then.

I don't know you, friend, and I didn't know this PandaGuy, but regardless of that, I just wanted to say that this is a beautiful tribute, and I'm sure he'd be touched. My condolences on the loss, however long ago it may have been.
