The outfit is pre-war through World War II. (Roughly 1936-1946, when naval/island influences dominated women's fashions, and simplicity in style was the thing. This peaked in 1939-1940 during the twin World's Fairs in New York and San Francisco, a period/focus of interest of mine.)
