a little bit of maybe not so common know how .. the Swastika (the symbol that is used) actually was around way before the nazi's started abusing it .. and if i remember correctly they basically reversed the symbol that the romans used meaning power..
it can also be seen on a lot of buddhism and other religious style buildings.. so when you look at it with context its just as much a symbol as using a pony hoof under a moon on a flag..

It's way older than that. The Swastika is mainly used as a religious symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism. Hinduism is the oldest religion still in major practice in these days, been around for about 6000 years. And as far as historians knows, the Swastika was in use in those regions before Hinduism showed up.

And as for its meaning, if I remember correctly, it was a good luck symbol, similar to our "modern" horseshoe and four leaf clover.

And fun fact: Finland also used this symbol during Finnish civil war, when the fought to be an independent nation from the newly formed Soviet Union. (1918) (This fact might not be 100% accurate, you have been warned)

"My friends, it has often been said that I like war.

My friends, I like war... No, friends, I love war! I love holocausts. I love blitzkriegs. I love defensive lines. I love sieges, charges, I love mop-up operations, and retreats.

Wars across prairies, in streets, in trenches, in grasslands, in frozen tundras, through deserts, on the sea, in the air, I love every act of war that can occur upon this earth.

I love blasting the enemy to smithereens with artillery salvos that thunder across the lines of battle. My heart leaps with joy whenever a soldier is tossed high into the air and cut to pieces by well placed sniper rounds. And there is nothing like a tank operator using a Tiger 88 to destroy enemy tanks. And the feeling that comes when a soldier runs screaming from his blazing tank only to be mowed down by heavy machine gun fire, is such an exquisite feeling.

I love it when my forces are ravaged by a Russian armored division. It's so sad to see towns and villages that were supposed to be defended at all costs, being laid to waste, their women and children being raped, and killed.

I love to be squashed under the heel of the British and American war machines. The humiliation, as my men crawl around like vermin, ducking the jagdbombers flying overhead.

Gentlemen... All I ask for is war, a war so grand as to make Hell itself tremble. Gentlemen, I ask you as fellow brothers in arms, what is it that you really want? Do you wish for further war as I do? Do you wish for a merciless, bloody war? A war whose fury is built with iron, and lightning, and fire? Do you ask for war to sweep in like a tempest, leaving not even ravens to scavenge, from this Earth!?"

Kanashii... do you watch hellsing? :P

I think I prefer the alternate version a bit more, though that might be due to the fact that I saw it before the 'original'.

**

Some of you have come to believe, that I... like… war... I wish to dash these rumors. I do not like war.

I... love... war.

Through my life I have discovered so many wonderful forms of war. You get up in the morning, you get into your shitty car, and you see a rich CEO who works half as hard as you do, drive down the street in his Porsche.

Class war.

You make it to work, and you find out that the annual drug test is today, and you just so happened to take a puff of your one-hitter a couple nights ago before dinner with your wife's awful parents.

Drug war.

But then, you find out that the only ones being called in for testing are your black and hispanic co-workers.

Race war.

Then you try and post about it on your facebook and all your friends start arguing over what’s right and what’s wrong.

Flame war.

You finally get home, and you decide to relax by watching a program about who gets the box, what's in the box, how much is what's in the box worth.

Storage Wars.

What I am telling you, my nazi army of one thousand vampires, is that I am a purveyor of war, and with your help over the years we are now at the precipice of our true goal.

You see, I want a simple war. No class wars, no drug wars, no race wars, no flame wars, and certainly no cold wars.

... blue-balled for forty years.

What I want is a war that only we can bring. A true war. A German war. The sequel you've all been waiting for.

I. Want. World. War. Three!

As a german....I am not to sure what to think about this...the animation is great and Nazis ARE a historical part of our planet's history so why not use it....but of course it is also remembering me what the generation of my grandparents did and I am not proud of that...

No, it's an old reference to Stroheim from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and The Major from Hellsing.    They're some of my favorite unapologetic over-the-top characters.  I used to do a ton of MLP/Jojo's crossover type content.

Even though I'd class myself as an edgelord, I was actually trying to make this one somewhat unoffensive by leaving it contextless.  All that happens is a nazi-horse puts on a jacket and cap against the blood-red background(I actually thought all the red would give her a bit of a villainous vibe) then stands there and smiles.

Most of my art in a greater context actually contains things that would probably get me condemned pretty quickly by irl nazis.  For instance: inter-species relationships, incest, polygamy, swinging, non-heterosexuality, etc.  I'm also personally mixed-race and brown skinned(if that matters).

Oh yeah, I liked Jojo part 2 a lot myself. I didn't catch that it was a reference but I see it now.

I feel a little weird about how sympathetically Stroheim was depicted, especially since even in the context of the show we see him killing innocent villagers prior to teaming up with Joseph, but I still feel like Jojo's intent takes a pretty solid "racism is bad" stance (Joseph beats up those racist cops and defends Smokey, Avdol is one of the major heroes, etc.)

Thanks for answering my question. I'm glad you aren't actually part of that ideology; I see some people using ironic nazi imagery that actually hold those views, especially in today's online discourse, and it can be hard to tell intentions sometimes. I appreciate you being willing to explain your actual positions.
