Personality
Areole enjoys safety and comfort, despite getting used to the lack of both while on the road. She loves quality sweets and vegetables as rewards for good service; often displaying her joy with a warm smile and an unconsciously swift wagging tail.
She tends to hate confrontation, public performances and the time of year when she needs a trim to maintain her appearance. The process of being sheered always strikes her with embarrassment.
Background/History
Orphaned at an early age, Areole was left at the doorstep of a master luthier named Wilfrid Maëllys. True to her breed, she grew a timid but loyal child in a household surrounded by bowed musical instruments. At the age of 8 she was handed her first hand-crafted violin and was taught to maintain it by her guardian. At the age of 12 she was taught the lathe and by 15 she began actively support her parent with her talents and steady hand. In time she became an accomplished archetier, or maker of bows, for the instruments her parent created.
Growing renown among exclusive circles for their masterful skills with both lute and bow, the need to serve commissioners far and wide soon burdened her father Master Maëllys with the consequent need of travel. Areole would then take to the road in his stead. At present, she uses the experience of traveling to meet commissioner and virtuoso alike to grow past her fears and timidity, and gain a better understanding of the world around her.
Her skills lie within the ability to play music using the bows and instruments of her and her father's design, think critically, and be dutifully observant as she performs her service.

Body
A sheep who is part dog, Areole's fur takes on a latte-like creamy brown hue, where the lighter fur pattern covers most of her body and cuts right through the thick fluff at her thighs and at the base of her neck. Her short wavy orange hair, modeled after a Japanese piano virtuoso, features an asymmetrical pigtail of sorts tied on the back-right side of her head. She keeps it well maintained as much as possible to keep its body, but when let down her hair meets her shoulders and curls lightly at the tips.
Her eyes are a brilliant green that compliments her hair, though her horizontal pupils often take new acquaintances some time to get used to.
