Wednesday

I'm standing in my living room looking out the front window, watching to see when Raph will be here. I'm really worried about you this morning, I have no idea what today will be like for you and I just really hope that you won't be miserable all day. Suddenly I hear someone walking down the stairs and I look back confused because I thought my parents had both gone to work today. Hoping it's my mom I walk into the kitchen to find my father rummaging through our fridge, I try to head back into the living room before you see me, but it's just my luck you see me.

"Shouldn't you be leaving to go to school." You ask and I cringe from the bitterness in your tone.

"And shouldn't you be at work?" I ask sarcastically

"I took the day off and honestly it's none of your damn business why I'm not at work. Now get your shit and go to school" You say slightly raising your voice.

"I will as soon as Raph picks me up." I say and all of sudden your full attention is on me.

"What the hell is wrong with your car? And who the fuck is Raph?"

"Raph is a friend and there is nothing wrong with my car. I don't have to stand here and explain to you why I'm riding to school with him today." I say turning around, I plan to head back into the living room to try and escape my father, but of course he decides to follow.

"You have no right talking to me like that. If your not going to use your car I'll just take your damn keys then." You say and I can tell things are starting to get out of hand so I decide to make my way outside to wait for Raph.

"You can't take my keys because I paid for my car, it doesn't belong to you." I say quickly opening the front door and closing it behind me, but my dad is still right on my heals.....

Turning onto your road, I get kind of excited knowing that I get to see you in a minute. But I'm also so thankful that you will be with me today when I go see my father. Some how you coming into my life has made this day 10 times easier than what it normally would have been. As I'm pulling up towards your house I can already see you walking out onto your grass and at first I laugh, but when I see a man who I assume is your father following right behind you I get slightly suspicious of whats going on. Suddenly that man grabs you by your arm and yanks you back, that right there pisses me off. I can tell you two are yelling at each other and when you try to rip your arm away from him he doesn't let go. I park my truck quickly and hop out walking quickly towards you, finally when I reach you I grab you lightly and push you behind me putting myself between you and your father.

"Do we have a problem here?" I ask in a low voice daring you to push past me.

"Who the fuck do you think you are?" This man yells in my face.

"The names Raphael." I say through clenched teeth.

"I don't care what your name is, get out of my way so I can finish talking to my son."

"No your conversation is done, we have to go to school now." I say turning my back and slowly pushing you towards the direction on my truck.

"You have no fucking right to tell me when I'm done talking!"

"I do when you're being violent with my boyfriend." I yell turning around quickly to look you in the eye.

"Now the truth comes out... Leonardo your nothing but a little piece of worthless shit! You disgust me!" This man says trying to push past me to get to you.

"No I told you that you are done talking to Leo. Anything further you have to say goes through me!" I say feeling my anger starting to grow, suddenly I feel you pulling on my hand and I decide it would be best if we both just leave.

I open the door of my truck for you making sure you get safely inside, before rushing over to my side. Getting in I immediately start driving. I hadn't even taken the time to turn my truck off when I showed up. When I turn off your road I pull over to the curb and put my truck in park. I look over at you and find you are very quiet.

"Are you ok?" I ask bringing you closer to me and I find your shaking. I run my hand up and down your arm to try and get you to calm down.

"Just a little rattled that's all." you say quietly and I sigh.

"He didn't hit you did he?"

"No he has never been violent with me like that, it was surprising though that he grabbed my arm like he did."

"Leo I'm sorry that happened."

"It's ok I'm just glad you got there when you did." You say snuggling closer into my embrace. I lean down and give you a gentle kiss.

"Are you ready to head to school now?" I ask and you nod your head, sitting up to pull your seat belt on.

The drive to school was very quite and I still feel angry at your father, I hope to god he wouldn't have hit you because I would have fucking dropped him. I don't care who he is, he could be the fucking president and I still punch him the face. I pull into the school parking lot, but there are very few vehicles here considering we are a bit early. As soon as I park you un-buckle your seat belt and start to open your door. Ok today sucks enough but I can't watch you be like this today. I reach across you and shut the door.

"Raph what are you doing?" you ask me.

"Leo please tell me what's going on... Don't just shut me out."

"I'm not shutting you out."

"Then talk to me please." I say reaching over to try and pull you closer, you set your bag back down moving closer to me. I wrap my arm around you, running my hand up and down your arm.

"I don't understand why he hates me so much..." you say taking a shakey breath.

Hearing you say that breaks my heart and I honestly don't know how to respond. So I just sit here in silence waiting for you to continue.

"There was something different today though. Like something snapped. The verbal abuse I'm used to, but never has he been physically violent towards me. I'm scared to think about what will happen when I go home."

Suddenly I feel something wet drip on my arm and I look down to find tears running down your face. You don't deserve any of this, your whole life has been seriously fucked up.. If only you had stayed here. I try wiping the tears from your face, but they are only replaced by more. I lean down and kiss you, trying so hard to get you to calm down.

"Then don't go home tonight. You can stay at my place. My mom wont mind."

"Raphie that's sweet but I can't not on a school night...."

"Who cares Leo, we will get to bed at a decent time. You can even stay in the guest bedroom, if you're worried about it."

"I'll text my mom and see what she says."

"Ok good, because I don't want to see you sad anymore." I say and finally you give a small laugh, which makes me smile.

"We should probably head inside." You say and I nod my head in agreement.

Getting out of the truck I walk over to your side and grab your hand. Which puts a smile on your face.

"So since when am I your boyfriend?" You ask and I suddenly stop walking. I pull you into my embrace and you wrap your arms around my waist.

"I mean only if you want to." I say with a smile

"Raphie I'd love to be your boyfriend." you say and I lean down and give you a kiss.

"Good because I wouldn't have it any other way." I say and you giggle before covering your mouth with your hand. I just role my eyes before giving you a kiss on the forehead.

"Alright we better go to class." I say grabbing your hand again.

Lunch:

Walking into the lunch room, I smile when I see Raph sitting at one of the tables already. How he managed to turn events of this morning from bad to okay I don't understand. If he hadn't been there I would have been miserable all day.

I place my bag onto the table and sit down next to you, but when I see how exhausted you suddenly are I can tell you are starting to struggle keeping your mind off what today is.

"Hi Raphie."

"Hi..." You say before releasing a small sigh.

"Why don't we go eat outside?" I ask. Maybe if I pull you out of this environment, things will perk up a little. You nod your head, grabbing your bag and follow me outside. I slowly start to lead us towards the maple tree and when you don't try to go a different direction I assume that means this will be ok.

"Rough morning?" I ask moving closer to you as we sit down on the ground. You nod your head and grab my hand.

"The topic in history of course had to be all about death and war. Two things that immediately brought my dad to mind."

"That's awful."

"yeah, I didn't think I was going to make it through class.."

"Are you going to be ok the rest of the day or are we going to need to leave early?"

"No i'll manage, I won't have you leave class over something silly like this."

"Raph this is not silly. Today is the day you lost your dad, I'd say this is pretty serious.."

We sit in silence for a few minutes. Both of us are lost for words but death is not an easy subject to talk about. Especially when it involves someone you really loved. Suddenly the wind picks up and I can't help but shiver, it isn't warm outside by any means but it's not uncomfortable, but with the wind blowing it is freezing.

"Leo you're going to catch a cold sitting out here. Maybe we should go back inside." you say running your hand up and down my arm.

"No i'll be fine. I will just put my sweatshirt on that will keep me warm." You role your eyes but end up doing the same thing.

"So how long is your football practice going to be?"

"I'm not going, my coach already knows. I figured we could just go see my dad right away."

"Ok."

I rest my head against your shoulder and I wish we could just sit here like this until the school day was over. When I feel you shift slightly I look to see you grabbing my back pack. You unzip the middle pocket and pull out my lunch.

"Here you should probably eat before it get's to late."

"So should you."

"I'm not hungry."

"Raphie you have to eat something. At least try."

After a minute your grab your lunch tray and slowly start to eat. The rest of our lunch is spent in silence but I was ok with that. I'm happy just being in your company, but before we know it the bell rings and we have to go to class. Again I here you sigh as you stand up. I put my arms around your waist and press my body close to yours. After a second you wrap your arms around me as well.

"Are you going to be ok."

"I'm sure i'll make it."

After school:

I walk out to the truck as fast as I can and I figure that you're already out waiting but much to my surprise the truck is empty. So I lean against the side and wait for you to come out. I pull out my cell to check and see if my mom had texted me back about staying the night at Raph's and much to my surprise she actually said yes. Although not before telling me to behave myself. I immediately feel myself start to blush, as I realize what my mom meant by behaving myself.

"Care to share what is making you blush?" I snap my head up so fast and I nearly drop my phone, of course you show up right this very second.

"Nothing, I'm not blushing... It's just a bit chilly that's all." I say standing up straight. You give a small laugh but you don't push the matter further which I'm thankful for.

"So are you ready to go?" you ask and I nod my head walking over to the passenger side of the truck.

Once we get out of the school parking lot, we drive for about 35 minutes before we reach the cemetery. This truly is a beautiful cemetery. The grass is green and cut, there is a small water fountain in the center or at least I think it's a fountain.

"Raph this place is actually really nice."

"Yeah lot's of vet's from every branch are buried here, then when their spouse dies they can choose to be buried here as well if they would like. So the groundskeepers make sure to keep this place in tip top shape, even when there is a bunch of snow."

You pull into a parking space and you definitely don't waste any time getting out of the truck. I get out as quickly as I can and I thought you had already taken off when suddenly someone grabs me from behind. I definitely would have screamed if I hadn't recognized the touch of your skin. I turn myself around in your arms and you lean your head against mine.

"Are you ready to meet my dad?"

"It would be an honor." I say and you smile. I'm glad to see you smile.

"Ok come on then." You say grabbing my hand and leading me down the stone pathway. We walk past the beautiful fountain which has an angel holding our nations flag and as we keep walking I have a feeling I know where your dad was laid to rest and sure enough you pull me in the direction of a huge maple tree.

As we approach the tree, I can feel you start to shake a little so I give your hand a small squeeze of encouragement. We walk around the backside of the massive maple tree and what we find is a single gravestone that says "Brian Ringer a loving Husband and Father, Died with honor protecting his country." You sit down on the ground and touch your dad's gravestone.

"Hi Dad. I know it has been a while since I've come to talk. I really miss you, but this time I didn't come alone.... I brought someone who really means a lot to me and I'm certain if you were here you would really like him too..." You stop and take a shakey breath, so I kneel down next to you and tangle our fingers together.

"Mom had to work today, but she asked me to tell you that she will be here to see you tomorrow. She also says she misses you and loves you very much......"

I can feel so many different emotions building up inside me right now and I can't help when silent tears start falling from my eyes. I feel awful for you and my heart aches to hear you talk about life without your dad. It also amazes me to hear how your mothers love for your father has not faltered through out all these years, your parents should have been the couple that were going to be married for over 50 years. I try to wipe the tears away from my eyes but they are only replaced with more, I finally give up and decide to rest my other hand on top of your hand that is holding mine.

"I know your not physically here with me dad, but I know you are watching me grow and live life. I just hope you would be proud of who I am. Mom and Leo say you would and I have to believe that you really would. In a way I feel like your still here" you stop and look at me, the tears running from your eyes as well.

"He is always with you Raphie. In here." I say touching your chest where your heart sits. You nod your head and lean against me.

"Well I'm sure you're having fun with grandpa right now, so tell him hello for me would you? I love you Daddy and I always will."

You stand up pulling me with you and before I know it I'm in your arms pulled tightly to your chest. I wrap my arms around you and we stand here for what seems like hours, but I really don't want you to let me go. I can feel so much of your pain and I wish I could make it all go away.

"Thank you for coming here with me today Leo.." you say in a whisper and I pull away just enough so I can look you in the eyes.

"Raph I wouldn't have missed this for anything." You lean your head against mine and give a tired laugh.

"Are you cold because your skin is freezing?"

"I'll be fine, you take as much time with your dad as you need."

"Actually I think I'm ready to leave."

"Ok" I say and you grab my hand getting ready to leave but I stop and take one last look at your fathers grave and the maple tree he sits under.

"I don't think you and your mom could have picked a better spot for your father." I say looking back at you and you give a small smile.

"Yeah we had to get special permission to place his grave there, but when we explained that he loved maple trees and how special it was to us, the owners made our request happen within a day."

We take our time walking back to the truck and I can tell today completely drained all your energy. When we get in the truck you turn the heat on which feels amazing against my skin.

"So did your mom ever text you back about staying at my house tonight?"

"Oh yeah! She did. She said I can." I say but I feel myself start to blush again thinking about the rest of her text and I try my best to hide it from you but there honestly is no escaping you.

"Your blushing again...This time you have to share." You say leaning closer, but all that does is make me blush even harder if that is even possible.

"S-she told me to b-behave myself......" I say and all I can do is close my eyes in embarrassment, what I wasn't expecting was to feel you giving me a very gentle kiss. Immediately I feel my self start to melt and all my embarrassment completely fades away.

"I don't think we will be doing anything of that sort tonight and even if we ever do take it that far in our relationship we can wait until both of us are one hundred percent ready and comfortable to take it to that next level."

I feel myself relax even more, I still can't figure out how you manage to make everything seem better.

"So let's run back to my place so I can grab a few things."

"Sounds good." You say sitting up and putting your seat belt on.

When we get back to my house I am relieved to see that my dad's car is gone, which means I won't have to deal with him at all. We walk upstairs to my room and I pack some clothes for tonight and tomorrow, I make sure I have everything I need for school tomorrow. I start to write a note to remind my mom where I am, but I think twice about it and end up throwing the paper in the trash. I don't want my dad to find the note before my mom does, so I think I'll just text her. After about 15 minutes we leave my house and head for yours. When we pull in the driveway I notice there are no other vehicles which means it's just us for now, but it is only 3:30. Your house is a real dark brown and looks to be pretty good size but overall it look comfortable just from the outside. You lead me inside and take me to the guest bedroom first so I can put my bag down. Then I get a small tour of your home.

"And here is my bedroom." You say opening the door and I'm not surprised to see your room is red, considering you constantly wear red.

"Well now I can confirm your favorite color is red." I say with a smile thinking back to the other day when you say my room.

"And let me guess the red shirts I always wear gave it away."

"No it definitely was the red walls" I say laughing

"Alright Mr. Sarcastic what would you like to do?"

"Actually I have a little bit of Math and English homework I have to complete." I say slightly bummed that we can't just hang out.

"Ok, well you can either sit at my desk, at the kitchen table, or you can sit in the living room if you'd like."

"I can come sit in the living room with you." I say with a smile and you return with an even bigger smile.

So I end up putting my stuff on your coffee table and sit down on the carpet, while you stretch out on the couch. I don't have a lot of math so I start there, but after 10 minutes I hear a very steady sound of breathing and look behind me to find you asleep. I knew you were tired, but at least you can rest for a little bit. Thankfully I finish my homework within an hour and I slowly stand up and stretch before putting everything away, as I zip my bag up I see you starting to wake up so I put my bag on the ground and kneel next on the ground next to you.

"Hi sleepy head." I say with a smile and you laugh

"Hi"

"Did you have a nice snooze."

"Yeah, but things are even better now that I'm awake."

"Oh and why is that?"

"Because I can ask you if you want me to order pizza and then we can watch a movie?"

"That sounds perfect." I say giving you a quick kiss.

It doesn't take long for the pizza arrive and we end up watching a movie called Tron. I've only ever seen bits and pieces of the movie so it was nice to sit and watch the whole thing with you. After the film is over though it's starting to get late so we both end up going to bed. Sleeping in a different house though is completely weird, even though I've changed homes so many different times it doesn't feel anywhere as odd as this. Eventually though I end up dosing off but not for long......

<i>"Come here Leonardo!!"</i>

<i>"I'm busy right now dad"</i>

<i>"I don't give a fuck if your busy or not! What your doing doesn't matter. I don't know why you try so hard is school, you're never going to amount to anything. You want to know why?! Because you're a loser, a worthless being that should never have been placed on this planet! You're nothing but a mistake, I should have put you up for adoption the day you were born!"</i>

<i>I can feel tears running down my face but I fight back from sobbing</i>

<i>"Whatever you can go to hell!"&nbsp;</i>

<i>"You watch your fucking mouth you hear me! You do not talk to me like that, you should be nothing but great full for everything I've given your sorry ass"</i>

<i>"All you've ever given me is more pain, everything that has been done or given to me was because mom gave it to me! You've done nothing!"</i>

<i>"You fucking worthless piece of shit!" You yell as you push me down on the ground and proceed to kick me and you raise your arm back as you get ready to hit me.........</i>

"STOP!" I yell jumping forward in my bed. I feel myself shaking and I can't keep in the sob that escapes from deep inside my chest. I hug my knees tightly into my chest. Suddenly I hear the bedroom door open, but I honestly don't care until I feel someone climbing onto the bed next to me.

"Leo..Leo! What on earth is the matter?" Raph asks and I can hear how concerned you are but all i can do is push myself into your arms and cry. My whole body is trembling, you lay there on the bed with me running your arm up and down my shell to try and comfort me. After a little while I finally calm down, but I am completely exhausted.&nbsp;

"Are you ok?" You whisper and I shake my head no.

"What happened?"

"A stupid nightmare it's nothing."

"Leo if it was nothing you wouldn't have been sobbing like that. Now tell me please."

"M-m-my f-father was telling me h-how w-w-worthless I am a-and he p-pushed me to the g-ground and s-started b-b-beating me...." I say in such a shakey voice I'm not even certain you understood a word I just said, but when you lean down and kiss my forehead I know you heard every word.

"Leo you are not worthless. You are one of the most amazing people I have ever known and there are a lot of people that care about you. Your mom, Master Splinter, April, Casey, Michelangelo, Donatello.... and me. Leo you mean the world to me. I hope you know that."

"Thank you Raphie." I say in a whisper and suddenly I start to realize that if I didn't have you in my life... tonight would have been one of those nights I would have thought about killing myself, just thinking about that gives me the shivers.

"What are you thinking about?"

"Trust me you don't want to know..."

"It doesn't matter how bad it is I want to know."

"I was just thinking that if you weren't in my life now, I would have seriously considered killing myself." I say quietly and I feel you stiffen up immediately. More tears slip from my eyes and now I feel you start to shake.

"Raphie I'm sorry...." I say in a whisper, but instead of you saying a single word you push your lips against mine and I gasp. You slide your tongue in my mouth and I feel nothing but pleasure course through my whole body. When you pull away neither us can breath.

"Leo promise me you will never leave me." You ask in a sad tone and it makes my heart skip a beat.

"I promise."

"Good."

"I'm sorry I woke you up... I hope I didn't wake your mom up."

"She isn't home yet, she has to work until 10:30 and it's only 10:00 now." you say rubbing your face against mine.

"Will you stay with me please?" I ask hoping you wont say no, I can't take another nightmare like that.

"If it will help you sleep of course I will."&nbsp;

So you lay down beside me and pull the blankets up over both of us. You pull me closer to you and I snuggle into your embrace. Slowly but surely I start to fall asleep, With you here I feel safe, I feel at peace......

In the Morning:

I wake up and look down to find you still sleeping right against my chest. It makes me happy to see that you slept through the rest of the night, but it also makes me sick to hear and see you have a nightmare like the one you had last night. But I'm glad you opened up to me and didn't hold that in. After that I wouldn't have thought twice about leaving you alone. In fact the longer I lay here the more I realize I enjoy waking up with you next to me. You truly are a beautiful person inside and out. Slowly you start to stir and after a few minutes your eyes open. As soon as you see me you smile and your smile takes my breath away.&nbsp;

"Good morning sleepy head. How did you sleep?" I ask quietly.

"Morning to you too and actually I slept pretty good." you say with a small laugh.

"Good, so are you ready to get up for school?"

"Already?" you say with a groan and I laugh.

"Yeah today is a new day... let's get up and enjoy the little things." I say real close to you ear and I feel you smile

"Hey you took that from me."

"Well it's a good line to live by."
