Inspired by a recent visit to the house and gardens of the impressionist painter Claude Monet in Giverny, France.
The experience left me really interested in exploring new things in my art, so I tried to follow after some of the themes and approaches taken by painters like Monet, at least as I understand them. His art so often had a strong focus on painting the light more than the landscape itself, so that's what I've made an attempt at doing here.
It was a really fun exercise and I'm pleased with the result, so while impressionist copycatting is not going to become my new overall style of choice I'll probably continue to try and apply some of the lessons here in my future works.
