Here we have Aiden @ 27 and his son, Jarrett @ 7 walking home in the rain. He has a particular fondness for his son, one that he doesn't quite have with his daughter. It's because he knows she can defend herself; Jarrett is the runt in the family, the one who needs safeguarding. He lacks Aiden's spontaneity (that distinction goes to daughter Sarah), but is completely full of Aiden's goodness and loyalty. Where Uthrieum failed with Aiden, he would most likely succeed with Jarrett. That is, unless Kalin the Corruptor gets to him first.
