Haven't played Boom yet, but from watching it I don't care for the story or how the characters act much, unfortunately. But that's been a problem for me with a lot of the games.

Personally I think it's time for them to try and show Sonic can be taken somewhat seriously again. Not to scoff at the silly centered stuff, but they just really didn't seem to give a darker more SatAm/Comic Book-ish environment a try in the games.
