Dinnick A'nnova. Age 25. Pokemon trainer, pyrokinetic, experiment. Time to shed some light on this guy. God help me with writing this...
Dinnick was born in a mountain town north of Kanto and Johto. At an early age, he showed signs of mild psychic abilities. The town is known for having a high percentage of children born with psychic powers of varying types. This attracted the attention of Team Rocket, who at the time were in the first stages of their secret project: Ascension. It was an attempt to unlock the pokemon-like abilities said to be long dormant in humans. The town was attacked and Dinnick, along with several other psychic children, were kidnapped and taken to Team Rocket's (for here on just referred to as TR) facility for the project hidden somewhere around Mt. Silver in Johto.
While there, Dinnick and many more captives were tortured and experimented on, some dying in the process. The survivors came out of the process possessing incredible super-human powers, such as control over the earth around them or, in Dinnick's case, being able to create and manipulate fire. Despite these new powers, every one of the human experiments were kept sedated and closely watched, often being beaten into submission by TR higher-ups.
For the next 10 years, Dinnick would be forced to take part in numerous experiment, field tests of his abilities, and endure almost constant abuse. At times he and the other superpowered captives would be made to fight each other for the scientists' amusement. This would keep the captives from forming bonds with one another and prevent them from attempting to overthrow their abusers. Dinnick was no exception. After years of fighting, he had closed himself off emotionally to everyone around him. That is, until he met Din.
Din was part of a special, separate research project being conducted in the same facility, this one simply called Redstone. At the time, he was just a small riolu, but already exuded an oddly high amount of influence over his human TR watchers. While the other pokemon and humans were treated like less than trash, often beaten and toyed with for fun, Din was treated like a VIP, with his own personal caretakers, quarters, and permission to access any part of the facility he wished. Why this is is unknown. Whatever the case, he had come upon Dinnick in his cell after a particularly harsh fight, the human sorely beaten. Din stuck around with him for a while and the two slowly formed a bond, the first one Dinnick ever had since his own parents.
The two would grow to be great friends over the years stuck in the TR's lab, allowing Dinnick to open up again. Din would come to Dinnick's cell everyday, albeit accompanied by his caretakers, and the two would just sit around and talk. One day, however, Din never showed up. This troubled Dinnick until alarms and sirens started ringing throughout the building. The power goes out, and the next thing he knows, every cell door is unlocked and sliding open. Taking a step out and doing some investigating, it seems that the entire building is under attack by something. Scientists are running for their lives from the humans they had kept locked up and the many more pokemon they had experimented on. Dinnick's first thought was to find Din, but a sudden voice came to his head telling him to just get out. Din would be fine. And no one defies random voices, right? So that's what Dinnick does, making his way through the ensuing chaos of the wallways and torn apart cells and rooms to make his way to the outside.
Once in the outside world once more, he finds the captive pokemon and humans of the facility fleeing in all directions. He stays to wait for Din, however. His only friend from that hell. After hours and no one else coming out of the building, he finally sees Din casually walking out while wiping blood from his fur. They meet up and discuss what to do now, with Dinnick suggesting the two travel together to find shelter. Din agrees, and the two head south, eventually making it to New Bark Town and being taken in by a single mother whose son was away. It is here that their journey begins.
They stay with the kind woman a couple of weeks, dodging questions about where they came from as well as what the hell Din is. A next door neighbor, a pokemon professor named Elm, approaches Dinnick with the idea of becoming a pokemon trainer and attempting the pokemon league challenge...for some reason. The dude's a bit off. Eh, whatever. Dinnick's a little hesitant, but Din pushes him to accept the offer, and soon the two are equipped with a pokedex and a new path to follow. Elm also gifts the new trainer with a starter pokemon: a young cyndaquil that Dinnick simply names Quil.
The journey to the pokemon league takes the small group almost a year to complete. Along the way, Dinnick only ever catches two additional pokemon: a pidgey he names Breeze, and a foreign pokemon called a buneary which he promptly names Alan. The group, through their journey, bond together as a family and do whatever they can to help one another. But the journey was not without its hiccups.
It turns out that TR has been searching for Dinnick and Din since their escape, and on more than one occasion has attempted to re-capture the two at the expense of heavy casualties. One of these attacks, happening after Dinnick returns to New Bark Town, costs the life of Alan, which the group deeply mourn. After this, Dinnick and Din alone wipe out any TR member they can find in the region in a crusade of vengeance.
After this event, he disappears from Johto, wandering the world with his three remaining friends. Time skip to about age 22 and he's found his way to the Unova region. While there, several things occur. He befriends a little orphan girl named Serah, who somehow is in possession of a porygon-z and a powerful mismagius. Dinnick captures a dewott named Mei-lin, a runaway from her clan who have taken up residence in a flooded out coastal city. He also bumps into and captures an audino through the use of snack cakes. He quickly names her Odette. Somewhere along the way, Din has two children, though none of the group know when he did so. The resulting daughters, a riolu he names Avalon and a buneary he names Coco (both of strange coloring even compared to their species's shiny variants) are begrudgingly left in the care of Serah and her two pokemon parent figures.
Skip ahead again a couple years and we find the group in Kalos. Here he meets and catches his last team member: a then espurr girl named Estelle. It is here that the group's current antics take place. Mei-lin surpassing the level requirement to evolve yet adamantly refuses to do so. Mei-lin and a now evolved Estelle confirming their feelings for Dinnick and constantly fighting to be the main object of his affection. Breeze, now a fully evolved pidgeot, and Quil, now a quilava, starting their relationship together despite the species gap. Quil obtaining a special stone that enables him to evolve into and de-evolve from a typhlosion at will. Dinnick learning from Estelle to temper and harness his psychic powers more efficiently, resulting in his own battling method of forming psychic links between himself and the team, allowing them to communicate tactics and, in some cases, letting Dinnick take direct control of one of them in battle. The confrontation with a TR splinter group looking to contain entire cities in their own pocket dimensions. This event also leads to the creation of Yzi and Zama, as well as their whole hybrid species.
From here, it's unknown where Dinnick will go next. Maybe he'll settle in Kalos with his friends and live a quiet life, no longer wishing to fight TR or travel the world. Maybe he will just continue to travel the world, meeting new pokemon, people and locations. Maybe he'll look to take on the pokemon leagues of the various regions, building up his reputation, power and influence. Who knows. I sure as hell don't. X3
