Gays don't need a flag to be gay. It's not a nationality. You're conforming to the requisites society has placed on you to be gay, and therefore stereotyped.
"You are wearing the rainbow, therefore faggot." is the common mentality of most people who see someone advertising that they are proudly homosexual by enforcing the most widely accepted conformity.
