I remember one of the people who has read it called it "The best Game of Thrones fanfiction I've read." While I truly appreciate the kind words, that's left for the readers to decide, as I had a blast working on that particular story. For those who want to start with the first chapter and find out how Daenerys gets to be on such friendly terms with Drogon, you can start with the first chapter:
Story details aside, this is one piece that has a deep emotional impact for me. Daenerys, both in the books and in the TV series, is really not the best mother. She barely pays attention to the needs of her children, chains them up in her ignorance, and is all around a person who doesn't try too hard to understand that, while her children are dragons, they still share a bond with her. With my story, I wanted to explore the tender side of both human and dragon as they both understand their past mistakes and start fixing them.
And, sometimes, all you need is a hug to get things started :)
