If i'm not mistaken, and correct me if i'm wrong. But i'm pretty sure in the MLP universe only Alicorns are immortal, so 160 years after the show shining armour wouldn't be alive. Hence Twilight's and Cadence's outrage.

the show makers said that Twi and Cadance are "artificial" Alicorns. As such, they won't live any longer than other ponies; Luna and Celestia are canonically the only long-lived alicorns.

well the whole convo here is that shining is gone because its 160 years after the show.... granny smith is in the show and is hundreds of years old... so why is shining dead?

That aside, I don't think anyone should feel sympathy for Cadence in this situation. Not when Chrysalis more than likely goes through the very emotions that Cadence is feeling at the moment every single time another one of her babies dies, all because of what Equestia has done. Yes, she did impersonate Cadence. Yes, she did invade. Yes, she did try to take over. Regardless, they didn't have to punish them in the manner that they had, considering the fact that she was doing so in order to establish a food source for her subjects, though I will admit that, if Equestia is as friendly as they claim to be and not nearly as selective and unforgiving as the Empress, she could have gone about it in a much different way and actually received a static food supply for them. I mean, the yaks were pretty much just as bad, if you think about it, going as far as to claim war, but they were forgiven and had a celebration and all. And if you think about it, Twilight, being the pony she is, as well as being the princess of Friendship, she would be the type that would've wanted to learn more about the Changeling species, and in the process, she probably would've been attempting to build a positive relationship between the two species.
I hope they bring them back into the show, since they have them traveling and becoming involved with other nations now. I would actually like to see this issue in the show, minus the whole, you know, OOC-ness of some of the characters, though I suppose for the sake of drama and plot Cadence would probably have to remain the way she is.
As for the whole Dark Romance thing, seems like her thing would be simply turning positive relationships into abusive and unhealthy ones, which isn't romance at all, really. Kinda curious about the name.

Correct. Cadence lost someone while Chrissy keeps on watching all of her children suffer and die day in and day out. Cadence's standpoint is nothing more than selfish, even though her pain in such a situation might be real. Then again, considering the whole friendship thing, everyone should have backed off the moment Chrissy told them that they are basically committing genocide via methodical starvation, especially considering that Celestia just got her three times over half dead lover back from them.
TL;DR: In one of the next panels Celestia will step in and prevent anyone from doing anything to the changelings. Considering the most positive scenario, thats the most likely outcome. Unless ofc we are taking a shower in a less pony and a lot more human drama.

true, but one would think that the princess of love herself would be even more bound to her heart's chosen a promise alone does not allow you to see thru a mortal shell to see the soul within, though its probly a trick that took celestia a very long time to figure out.

i think the part that gets me the most is the fact that this is so much like modern day racism. No matter how much one side just wants to live in peace with the other side, the other side just see's them as monsters to be hated and reviled, ether by they're own logic or by way of indoctrination. Also, considering that cadence is starting to go down a very dark path right now, i think Luna is going to end up intervening since she has first hand experience with that very same path.
