ews is one of those I guess you could say was responsible for me to eventually find this furry fandom. Back in 1993 in school someone had an Amiga 1200 and showed his "Quality Time" short he made and I was blown away. I HAD to find more stuff like that! Sent the guy fan mail (actual snail mail fan mail) but never got anything back. Fast Forward to AnthoCon 1999 I get to meet the guy in person and he remembered those letters! (I forget his reason on why I never got stuff back but I didn't care anymore heh). In 2001 I was able to get him to sketch in my sketchbook.
