My 8th digital work, following the Wood Elemental, released in May 2014 and also completed within 2-3 weeks of updates on my DevArt site. As with the Wood Elemental, it was commissioned by a friend in high school to draw it for me, downloaded, and remastered the linework, correcting details and adding my own. I am incredibly happy with the progress with this, as I not only made the fingers and fingernails much more human like I preferred, but redid every single scale on her body as well as added all the supplementary lines to her 'hair' to make it look more like a seeweed-like substance. This was also the first time I learned to use positive shading (i.e. white paint) to emphasize spots as well as negative/black shading for shadows. While I did learn it is incredibly difficult to get the texture of water just right, I am quite happy with the work that was done here. Feel free to compare.
