How I claimed Amy Rose
A narrative through the eyes of Shadow the Hedgehog
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amy smiled as I took her hand and brought her out.
"Okay, the lookout is quite far from here, so we'll have to teleport." I said as I began to concentrate on the spot.
"W-wait!" Amy said as she caught my attention.
I paused as I looked at her and asked, "What is it?"
"Can't you just, you know, use your air skates or something?" she said with a bright smile, as if she had been hoping to do something like that for a while.
I stopped for a second to think about that.
"I am able to go at nearly the speed of light which I am able to withstand. While carrying you, you might sustain a lot of damage from the air friction alone.... I'm going to have to go fairly slow then. You should be able to withstand mach 5...."
Amy smiled and said, "Okay! Sounds very fast, but lets do it!"
I paused for a bit then asked, "How shall I carry you?"
Amy raised up her arms like she was reaching my shoulders and said, "Just pick me up like this and I'll hug you tight! ^ ^ "
I blushed a bit as I picked her up and she hugged me while wrapping her legs around my waist. I gently wrapped my arms around her waist and said, "Hang on Rose..."
She tightened her grip and nodded as I charged up my dash. I then sped along the outskirts of the city, making sure that I did not pass too many landmarks, cars or people, as they would get damaged by the sonic boom alone. I reached mach 5 in an instant, and I was already faster than that pathetic faker could ever be. I wish I could have gone faster, but I was carrying Amy and I knew she couldn't withstand it. I eventually made it to the mountain top and slowed down to a halt. I gently let Amy down and she looked up at me in amazement.
Her quills and hair were quite messy when we stopped. She gently combed it back down as she said, "Wow! That was the fastest I've ever gone! Way faster than what Sonic could ever do!"
I flinched as she said that name. I've always despised whenever anybody mentioned that name.
"S-sorry, I know you don't like that name and..." She paused for a bit, "N-neither do I, but that's an absolute fact... You're quite amazing Shadow!" Amy said with a bright smile.
I crossed my arms in confidence and said, "Well of course, I am the Ultimate Life form.... That faker could never compare to the power that I possess."
Amy just giggled, walked past me and said, "Alright there Mister Ego...."
I turned around and followed her with blush filling my face. We walked along the lookout hill until Amy stopped at one point and gasped. She was standing on the top of a higher hill and seemed amazed at what she saw. I walked up next to her and saw what she was looking at. The top of the hill sloped down into a small valley that had many trees and wild flowers. There also happened to be a small lake that fed a small stream that ran through the rear of the valley.
"It's so beautiful!" Amy said.
"I-I guess," I said, I honestly didn't understand what made this place so beautiful to her. Maybe it was the flowers. I have observed that at least 80% of women enjoy flowers and consider them beautiful.
Amy decided to grab my hand and shout, "C'mon Shadow! Lets get a closer look!" as she dragged me to the lake. I decided to follow along, with her hand in mine.
Why are her hands so soft?
She giggled and laughed happily as she ran through the flowers and looked at the trees. I only followed along since I did not know about this portion of the mountain and made sure that we were safe. I have many enemies and should expect any kind of ambush or assassination attempt. But I still watched as Amy walked through the area with wonder and curiosity. The fragrance of the flowers was rather intriguing. It made my nose tingle in the strangest of ways. It wasn't irritating at all since I'm not allergic, but I never bothered to actively smell flowers. The grass seemed much greener in this area than anywhere else. I don't see grass too often since I mainly stick to the city. But then when I glanced over at Amy again, she was smiling at me.
"Oh Shadow, this is such a wonderful place! I'm so glad you brought me here." She said, then she gave me a rather tight hug.
So warm.
I gently placed my hands on her back and did my best to hug her back, or at the very least, did my best to perform an action similar to a hug.
I still have yet to understand how this gesture feels so good.
Amy eventually let go and stared into my eyes. Her eyes glistened brightly. I never noticed just how bright her eyes were. A rather shiny emerald green, almost like staring into a pair of Master Emeralds.
She giggled at me and said, "You're staring Shadow."
I shook my head and said, "Forgive me. I just," I paused.
Amy titled her head in curiosity and said, "You just, what?"
I looks back into her eyes and said, "I never took many things into consideration. Up until... Well, you came in."
Amy smiled a bit and blushed at the same time and said, "Well, I'm glad I could open your eyes to the natural beauty of this world!"
I paused at that thought.
Natural beauty...
Of...
THIS world?
How could this world be considered beautiful?
I have seen nothing but violence, pain, suffering, and destruction...
Some of that dealt with my own two hands...
I looked off to the side and into the lake, looking at my reflection...
And there it was again.
That damn android.
Smirking.
My head snapped away from the image and I looked the opposite direction, looking away in disbelief and despair. Not now. Of all the times to appear.
"Shadow?" Amy said as she laid her hand on my cheek, "Is something wrong?"
I slowly turned to look at her with discontent in my eyes.
Amy looked at me worriedly and said, "Please Shadow, what is it?"
I sighed heavily and said, "It's nothing Rose... I think we should get going..."
