Shortly after the birth of Keepsake, Appel found himself ordering books from the Crystal Empire archives. While there, he came upon a beautiful crystal heart necklace and thought of the mare who had birthed him the most beautiful, healthy daughter imaginable.

Needless to say, he was quick to empty his wallet for such a gift, for such a wonderful mare! <3
