Aaand I actually finish something, isn't that a shock? XD What started as just an experiment of how to color, shade, and texture in GIMP turned into a full blown project. Let me know what ya think. ^^
Well, do you use guidelines to construct your heads and faces? Placing midpoints for horizontal and vertical construction makes it easier to establish where the middle of the face is and distort the facial features to adhere properly to that angle. For example, noses don't look the same from every angle and the amount of the eyes you're able to see change based on how much your head is turned in any direction. Given the position of the hair and ears I'm led to believe he's turning is head to the right slightly, but his eyes, nose and mouth are drawn flatly, giving off the impression his face is supposed to be looking directly towards the viewer. It doesn't feel entirely right as a result.
What I like to do is watch how a lot of artists construct their figures and adapt those basic principles into whatever I'm doing. Maybe that would help you out?

I agree with MrSOCKS~ Boys will be boys, and that's how it should be :3 I love how this picture manages to feel homely, wild and epic at the same time. The shading and background somehow gives a slight dramatic flair to an adorably goofy premise. You've gotta love the silly little scamp. X3
