A quick one, for it's still exams season. This is another radical revamp of a very old alien race of mine.

The Smowryee are an intelligent species. They feed on basic energy, which they store within their bodies, making them glow. It appears that they are able to control heat and light as if they were physical matter, which allows them to grab and use tools despite their lack of proper appendages.
Surprisingly, they also move pretty fast on their only foot. The Smowryee are strictly asexual and reproduce by bipartition: when reaching a certain mass, they tear apart in two halves which share their parent's knowledge.
