(not sure if "hang up" is the apropiatte expression
but both guys (april and Evan) used to walk together and
do many things together)

I'd use "hang out with" but "hang around with" works too.

"Hang out" not hang up, is the phrase you are looking for.

panel 2
works fine
panel 3
"please form a group with those closest to you. " or " please team up with the students next to you"
april's line is fine.
