Now THIS is truly something unexpected, isn't it? Well,this idea sparked in my head a couple weeks ago when my family and I were at Disneyland, and I was browsing random pics using the hotel room's wi-fi, when I stumbled across this photo of an old action figure from a Bug's Life: http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTYwMFgxMjAw/z/L2IAAOSw7ThUp...
I saw that picture of Atta up there and thought it looked SO awesome that I had to give it a shot, but I also decided to tweak it a bit, as I couldn't make her launcher look right and I also wanted to make her weapons seem more... realistic, however much of a stretch that is to begin with.
So instead of her staff launcher she now uses 2 different variations of toothpicks for her arsenal, one plastic (and conveniently shaped like a sword) and half a wooden one (attached to her leg harness).
Now as for the image itself, I did NOT draw it from scratch, but rather franken-dolled multiple pictures from the coloring books into one. And THAT'S why I don't do commissions.
