The mountain ranges that separate central Angara from the northern rim of the continent, where our destination Imil is located, are too steep to traverse on foot. With no alternative, we descend into the labyrinthine caverns that wind their way from one side to the other, deep beneath the ancient earth. Some caverns are man made and still in use as trading routes, so they are well-lit and offer the occasional opportunity to converse with merchants, but the passageways all look the same after a while, and I'm wary of getting lost.
