Character Sheet for Jewelry Mouse
Personality
Unusually for a fey creature, she is quite friendly with mortals and she seems to be genuinely fond of them. She is quiet and rarely speaks unless spoken to, but she seems to be gregarious and she spends a great deal of time in towns and cities all over the island of Viridis. Like all fey, she has a bit of a mischievous streak and she is known to occasionally filch food and drink, and she will gleefully play all manner of pranks on people who are rude to her. On the other hand, she is known all over Viridis for her kindness to children and especially for bringing children who have gotten lost, or been kidnapped, home safe to their families.
If anyone does her a favor or does anything to help her, she will do her utmost to repay their kindness. She often gives little bundles of food or medicine to the island's poorest citizens, invariably anonymously, and in general she is regarded as something of a good luck charm on the island.
Likes/Dislikes
Likes - sweet cream, sweets, sweet tea, polite mortals and children, brandy, gold, silver and precious stones, songs about faeries.
Dislikes - iron, cruelty to children, mortals with no sense of fun, early mornings.
Background/History
Very little is actually known about her. She has been on Viridis for as long as anyone can remember, and is normally encountered in any of the various markets and fairs that occur around the island where she sells her jewelry to anyone who cares to buy. She makes most of her jewelry herself, but it is widely rumored that her best pieces come from the tombs of ancient kings or the plundered treasures of long-dead bandit chieftains. She will neither confirm nor deny these rumors, but only smiles politely when asked about them. Nobody knows where she comes from, or where she calls home. She never stays in one place for long, and so far as anyone knows she is at least as old as Viridis itself. Some say the island belongs to her, but there's no proof of that. In spite of her mercurial and mysterious nature, and the fact that she can be incredibly dangerous if provoked, she is quite popular in every kingdom on the island. She is best known for her elegant and, some say, hypnotic dances at the markets she attends, by which she shows off the jewelry she has for sale. There are those who claim to hear music playing as she dances, even though no musicians are present, but no-one can agree what this ethereal music sounds like or even if it exists.
Relatives/Family
World/Setting
Viridis is a large island that lies off the coast of Jaspertree in the Glass Ocean. It is home to a number of species, the most notable of which are foxes, lynxes and rabbits, who each control roughly a third of the island. Though Viridis is beset by frequent, if brief, wars, and its technological advancement is roughly on a medieval level, it is nevertheless a relatively prosperous place with an unprecedented level of social equality for its time.
