Hi there!

Made this out of a CPU cooler (Scythe Big Shuriken 2 Rev.B), a frosted acrylic tube and two "DAYLITE" LED-Modules (8 Watt per module). Runs on 12 Volts.

I used thermal conductive tape to attach the modules to the cooler and it works pretty good. No overheating at all :)  Although the fan has to run.
Without it it reaches temperatures around 60-70°C. It has to be a slow spinning speed, so that's fine.
I think that CPU-Cooler designs are beautiful and should be more appreciated.

And heat pipes are espacially cool. They are used in satellites to transfer the heat of the sunny side to the shadow side.

thats actually kinda neat .. the only thing i would have done different was to lay (or stick rather) the powering components to the ceiling in a sort of grid pattern so it looked like something kinda industrialist artsy .. or OH OH build a box to house the components so the end looks like a fire cannon! ..

*slinks off to build ... something*

Thank you :3
Nice ideas. I would use a much longer tube for the cannon one.
There are a lot of sweet cpu-cooler designs and I could imagine building some more lamps with those.
