New Generation
After being inducted as President, some 100 years following his redeeming epiphany; John Bishop set out on a personal project to either destroy or put his old projects into storage depending on what it was they were looking for. They were keepers only if it’d be too dangerous to attempt disposal, if they were tossers, then they were disposed of safely and discreetly so as not to let any harmful technology, weapons or chemicals escape.
One in particular stirred a few old memories; his original DNA Samples of who had been affectionately dubbed as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, accept that the tubes that held their DNA …….was empty. This wasn’t good, he commanded his robots and the reborn Dr. Baxter Stockman and his Bio-mousers to find any trace of mutated animals or anything exposed to the turtles’ DNA and mutagen samples.
Baxter had quipped about new versions of the main four being mutated and probably looking like hideous alien hybrids being a form of irony for the former government Agent who fought so hard to protect the world from alien invasion. Unamused, Bishop continued his search, until one of Baxter’s Bio-Mousers finds something hiding under the runs of the old storage tanks that held either dead or stasis-slept aliens.
Bishop orders the mouser back and takes a look, he finds little turtle mutants, only they were female, and not exactly all turtle either. He’d coaxed them out of their hiding spot seeing that their shells were smaller and flatter than a normal turtle and had nearly flattened to their backs. Their tails were longer, and two out of the four of them had unnatural colors as well; one was purple, the other was a Cyan-aqua green color.
At Baxter’s lab, he’d done several significant tests on them to see if they would be sickly, deformed later on, or how long they would live for, since the only mutagenic material bishop had in his old laboratory was what was affectionately dubbed by the main four as the “Outbreak Virus” which was originally cultivated from their own blood. These little turtles however showed no sign of deterioration, degeneration or even breaking down, they were all perfectly healthy.
“Another 5 hours and they’ll be cleared with a clean bill of health Mr. President” Bishop watched as Baxter examined them in individual doc-pods, he noted they all seemed distressed with having been separated, “release them from their pods, put them in the central recovery area” Baxter looks at him with bewilderment, “Is there a problem doctor?” Baxter swallows thickly, remembering that tone all too well, he hurriedly has the drones move these little turtles and release them.
Bishop enters the same area and sits with his legs crossed like he was going to meditate, but just waited instead. One of the little turtles approached him, she had a sea green color like Michelangelo and determined she had to be his clone, she little turtle crawled up to Bishop and climbs up into his lap, he rears back a little studying it. The little turtle then manages to get comfortable and lays it’s head on his left leg making like it was about to take a nap, the other three do the same thing only outside of Bishop’s lap, the purple one laying it’s head on his feet, the Cyan one laying on his left the last one on his right.
Baxter bites back a laugh at the irony of the image he saw unfolding; these were accidental clones of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles he’ fought so hard to try to take samples from in order to build an army of anti-alien super soldiers. He knew without a moment’s hesitation those same turtles would just as soon as rip Bishop a new one and possibly kill him if he drove them that far. Never wanting anything to do with him as they had previously and begrudgingly sought his help with their brother Donatello.
What he was seeing though was a parental bond forming from these little hybrids going towards Bishop, the irony being that half their DNA comes from said turtles. What would the future entail from these little creatures is the real question, though Baxter did start getting a sinking feeling when he saw Bishop lay a caring hand across one of their backs.
