notes: species 97547 is a very unusual creature to say the least, it has no dedicated heart, lungs, brain, or any other type of organ outside of the eyes, what we think is a stomach and a strange sack housed inside the center mass of its body. we have noted it is able to grow new appendages at will that seem to change based on the task they are to perform, we are unsure as to what the creature consumes for nourishment but tests are ongoing of this strange creature, we have not yet discovered how it breeds but have concluded it is asexual and might possibly reproduce by mitosis or something of the sort, so far they have the temperament of a cat and seem to have a child like curiosity about the new things it encounters, we are unsure if it sentient or not or how it communicates with others of its kind, it seems to be very compliant to the females and herms and even has been seen snuggling with the cunt boy of our crew, we don;t know how many of these things there are on kathiri but they seem to be harmless. with further study we have learned it can grow many types of tentacle tips, here are the types of appendages seen so far: a hard dense bone spike possibly for self defense or attacking prey items. a suction cup, seen used to grab onto smooth surfaces and was seen holding onto the labs outer wall during a storm, confirming its grip was quite string. a 4 pronged grabbing appendage that can also function as a mouth for consuming solid food. a basic appendage used for assessing something with no dedicated tip, quite possibly it is used for gathering scents the same way a snake uses its tongue to smell. what look like needles and have been seen used on smaller creatures, injecting them with some kind of thick green ooze, the effect of this ooze is unknown but from the actions we assume its some kind of medical implement, possibly marking future prey, and what seems to be a dispensing arm, though we have not confirmed what it dispenses, we have also discovered it moves around on a cushion of air similear to that of a hover craft and has been seen reaching speeds of 30 kph, we'll continue to study these beings, but it seems it does not like being around so many people, we recommend having one crew member study the creature at a time.
