Scourge was around before Shadow and Silver. He was the anti-Sonic. So I find that to be a rather unfair comparison. Not to mention he has a very different back story to Shadow, especially being that he is from an alternate universe that is opposite to Sonic's. Only reason he became Scourge was a freak accident and he rolled with it decided he wouldn't be just another copy of Sonic. A fun fact as well, Scourge actually beat down Shadow, twice! I love Shadow but I love Scourge as well.

Basically. Though I do love Shadow I'm not going to say he is the most original thing in the world because he's not. He does share a similar back story to Mewtwo. I get the impression that this person hasn't read the comics or if they have don't know when they were published or how Scourge came to be Scourge. Which is fine but I rather they know the story before saying stuff like he was copied from two character that he predates. That's me though.
