I wasn't originally going to ink this one out of the style experiments, but it just sorta happened that way. Went ahead and experimented with my color and shading here a bit too and I gotta say I love the pastel-y and cel shaded look here. It was also rather quick to do. (Cyber was done a week ago, but I thought it deserved a BG) It's not the most exciting image, but it makes a good profile type pic or a reference image at least. :)
I really like this; the bright colours (pastel-like as you say) go with the new style well, and feel you've done a really great job on the background and the shading in it (especially like that sharp-lined shading on the lamp; it really suits the style your going for) :). The bottle of water is a nice touch too, and would vote the art is pretty good in general (especially the creasing on the duvet). Nice one!
Did have a chuckle when I looked at his face as I couldn't work out for ages why it looked like he was giggling here and not in the old sketch where he's just smiling. It's that wisp of hair over his eye I think (in the old sketch the eye was visible under it); made the eye look a bit closed to my mind so it's as if he's chuckling about something or saying something funny through clenched teeth (like a "ummm.... hi?"). But yeah had me in stiches for ages.
Nice job again man; really love this! :)
EDIT: Will never get over those claws! Poor thing's going to be scraping them along the floor when he walks... (and yes I overthink that sorta stuff XD)
