She could always use her nails/claws as an improvised comb and get the large stuff out until she came get to some proper grooming gear.

That is true, its just the bother of it that gets annoying i'm sure.
Might be one of the main reasons furries wear clothing instead of modesty

I wonder how their RL counterparts dealt with the problem or whether or not it was a problem for them.  For our primitive relatives, how did they deal with it.
