Sorta went with a pseudo-painting 'style' but not sure if I like it. x3 Need to try it for real to get the right feel I'm going for. The 2nd version is the original attempt, but I felt it was too blurry.
I find the 2nd version better because there's glimmers in the water, and the boulders and rocks look a lot more smooth. I'm sure you can make the 1st version work out, but this blurriness you pointed out in the original picture seems like polishing to me. I do apologize for choosing the quicker technique more than the one that took longer, but I really can't see a thing wrong with the original. It's very gorgeous. I can imagine it with a sunset or a night sky, even. :o Great job, tiger~

The 2nd version has reflections in the wrong direction, part of the reason I wanted to re-do it. The rocks look more smooth because of how I shaded them. I realized that if I go for a painted style it's not going to work with my usual shading techniques so I'm going to have to change how I do it. This was a learning experience for sure.
There wasn't much detail in the 2nd version, just fuzzy color generalizations I guess. I just know it wasn't what I wanted and I want to do better. =) Thanks for the encouragement, it's what I need to keep going sometimes.
