This is how Hornscale gain his leaf-like tail and Life elemental powers.
It all started 10 years ago, when he was just 6 years old, Hornscale got lost in the forest while he was playing. He then got very hungry, and suddenly saw a weird looking berry, since he was so hungry, he picked it, and ate it, then something strange happened to him, he grew a leaf-like tail, Hornscale was shocked at first because he's afraid that people would laugh at him for having that kind of tail.
So he tried to hide it while trying to get out of the forest, but then the slobbering pack of Chompies appeared, chasing poor Hornscale, and trying to attack him as well, even one of them bit him on the leg, but when another one of them was about to bite him, Hornscale suddenly whacked his tail at it, and his horn began to glow as it shot an energy beam at them, so he got rid of the Chompies as he got out of the forest.
Hornscale looked at his leg where a Chompy bit, but then he suddenly healed it with his horn. It turns out that weird looking berry was a magical one, not only that it gave Hornscale a leaf-like tail, but he got powers of a Life elemental, he decided to put those newly found pwoers to used. His mother Gill Grunt suddenly appeared, who was looking all over for him, Hornscale ran to his mom and hugged him, as Gill then sees his tail and got very confused, his herm son told him he wants to be a Life Skylander when he grows up, which made him and Fryno proud. No wonder why Hornscale was so special to his parents due to the fact that not only he's a hermaphrodite, but unlike them and his siblings, he is a Life Skylander, and he's proud of it.
