One part Charlie Sheen (What an asshole!), one part Tom Jones, and one part Journey.... :) You do know this was the San Francisco Giants' theme song for their 2010 season, yes? Of course, New Yourkers are still pissed that us Californians "stole" your Dodgers and Giants, but hey-- The Giants got the Big Trophy last year- Yeah, baby! ;D

Yep, and I watched when the Giants won the Super Bowl that year. ELI MANNING, BABY!! ^^
I was hoping this mix came out okay. Tom Jones was sitting in my folder waiting for me to sample him. THAT motherfucker can still sing! I saw him perform his latest song on David Letterman. HOLY SHIT! Jawdropping doesn't cover it. :D I would KILL to see filmed footage of TJ in the 60's when he performed at the NY Apollo Theatre, and blew the roof off the place! Many people in Harlem thought he was black until he appeared on stage. His rendition of Clyde McPhatter's "Without Love (I Have Nothing)" is just devastating! And did you know skiffle champion Lonnie Donnegan wrote "I'll Never Fall In Love Again" (not the Dionne Warwick song)? And Tom covered Prince's "Kiss" with (SQUEALS!!) The Art Of Noise!!
"Glee" totally killed the Journey song (and countless others). The sobering fact that Glee has more charting hits than The Beatles and Elvis is just WRONG!! >< And I predict Charlie Sheen and Lindsey Lohan will be dead before the year is over. They won't be missed. And the same goes for Michael Lohan, a real decrepit shiteater.

Ironic to say I'm not really a sports fan, but I do understand and appreciate baseball... Oh, and I have the 2010 World Series on DVD-- The SF Giants played GOOD, while the Texas Rangers (remember, Bush Jr. used to be an owner of the team!) simply weren't World Series material-- The Yankees should've been been the ALCS theme, and it would've really been the battle of last season's two true best teams... And it was priceless to see Bush- who thew out the ball- be humiliated by a Giants win... ;)
Tom Jones was badly marketed when he landed in the US, but he has really made up for it-- "Kiss" was the biggest hit he and The Art of Noise ever had, and it even outdid Prince's original. I think it was one of the top 5 selling singles of 1988! :)
Mmmm, Art of Noise....... ->
;)
Although I had heard of The Art of Noise, knew of them because of "Beat Box (Diversion 2)" and "Peter Gunn Theme", it was Mike Patton (yes, THAT Mike Patton!) who came to me in the record store and said, "Dennis, I just know you're gonna like this!", and put the CD "In Visible Silence" on the store speakers... Been hooked ever since. :)
I don't pay attention to "Glee" at all- They really aren't that good or special, not to me.
Lindsey Lohan is not manic, as far as I can tell, so she's going to be around- Just another Britney Spears, as far as I'm concerned... As for Charlie Sheen, yes, he WILL be dead, sadly-- It's not just the drugs, but true manic-depressive disorder, and he hasn't crashed yet... And he will... Manic-depressives crash as big as they peak. Gonna be very messy, though. :(

I don't follow sports either. But I was invited to my friend's house to see the Giants win, so it was good seeing that. "Kiss" may have been a huge hit for TJ & AON, but Prince's original DID go to #1. And once again, Prince proves he can have a hit single devoid of bass guitar. ;)
As far as Glee, I will admit I bought the Madonna episode from Amazon. Their re-enactment of the "Vogue" video was brilliant!
I am seriously considering sampling a lost British classic: "Atlantis" by John Forde. I was bowled over when I first heard it recently.

Yeah, I remember "Kiss" hitting #1, which surprised me when Tom Jones & The Art of Noise not only hit #1, but outsold Prince's original. :) The 12" mix is as awesome as the 7" mix-- I have both versions of "The Best of The Art of Noise"-- The China/Polydor original's harder to find than the China/Off-Beat version, and both are different, not just in cover colour. :)
I should check out the song you mention, but I should counter with another "lost" UK group that did masterful psychedelic-era music-- You might've heard of them, due to having the same name as a much more famous American band from a later period-- Nirvana. :) They only made one album, in 1967, predating the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper by a few months, and is an awesome concept album. :)
Hope you liked the AoN-inspired Tiny Toons track I pointed you to... Oh, and thanks for +faving a few pics of Amy- I'm glad you liked 'em enough to +fave 'em. :)

I hate to prove you wrong again, but AON's version of Kiss indeed was a huge hit, but did not hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. I would assume it was #1 on other charts, most definitely. And as for Nirvana, the REAL Nirvana (fuck all those people comparing Kurt Cobain to John Lennon!!), they had 4 albums. I have all 4. "Rainbow Chaser" was the clincher for me. ;)
And yes, Amy is a doll. ^^

I think Amy would find her a bit overwhelming, and not just for the size difference... (She is, characteristically, a mouse, after all... And I don't mean terrified, just overwhelmed.)

Well, she's not tiny tiny- Just 4 ft. tall- but it can be as much personality that can overwhelm Amy. That's why I said "characteristically". Ironically, it's that characteristic personality that causes her to not want to be a bottom, and is unable to be a top.

Well, she does grok music, production and technology, and like me, enjoys all kinds of music, only with a slight difference in priorities-- She favours classic/prog rock, while I favour doo-wop, but we generally agree on music in general, and the real greats out there. :)
