Sometimes I like to warm up by picking a brush in photoshop, and drawing some random thing as fast and loose as I can. The idea is to draw faster than you can think, and hopefully something natural and fluid comes out.

This is my character drawn in that technique. I usually don't like sharing work that's this messy, but I found this one really interesting, so I messed with the colors a bit and decided to share. I hhaven't really drawn much of my character yet, but this is a good approximation of how I see him in my mind i.e. not very clear at all :)
