I have spoken about this a few time. And now I want to make a graphic novel of Watership down. I will post the pages here but first I need to have another reed through the book.

For now here is the cover.

Hope you can look forward to it, but be warned. This story is very grim.

They realy should give a warning before the movie starts. XD

What would it say? "Warning! this move may cause extreme crying, terrible night visions and the need to pick up every wild rabbit you see just to keep them safe". XD

Or simply: "Warning! Your child will see blood and internal organs of rabbits....lots of internal organs."

The cover art does remind me of the cartoon some.

One other animal story that is grim, many may not know that it is, is the original book Bambi. About as dark as Watership Down in parts. In it the young doe Faline had a sickly brother, whom fell sick at a farm. The people there brought him back to heath. So when he returned to the other deer, he felt humans will not harm him. And when the hunters came, he didn't run like the other animals did, as was shot dead for that mistake.

Also the bunny Thumper's father gets shot dead in the story too. That's not even the half of what went on in that story.

Another dark story set is those from The Redwall set. It's not of wild animals, but it's one that some have said they tried reading them to kids, only to find it scared them a lot. I would love to see a well made 3D CG animated set made directly from those books. ^.^

This I want to see too, if I ever get Netflix.
