Haven't drawn a sketch on paper for a while. good to know my pencil skills haven't dulled. Just a cute image of Fluttershy that popped into my head. May have gone slightly overboard with the flashiness but there are some stripped down backgroundless versions there too. all this stuff is available full size to my patrons here
but yeah I worry that I create a negative contrast between two things- first is that the image looked good with eh t background and soft highlights, especially around the cutiemark, but then the second was that I wanted to have beams of light and lots of atmosphere. I did my best to balance those two things but they hate each other a little lol. I do have a tendency to take things too far and end up ruining them when simplicity could do more XD Buuuut it looks pretty anyway so I'm cool with it. oh and also was experimenting with flutters' hair as you can tell, and practicing more with legs and muzzles and wings.
