And here I present easily the biggest reason (no pun intended, though it certain fits) as to why I drew all these Zelda picture in the first place! I have a very old piece of art... and not the kind that I look at and feel it still holds enough weight to be posted with all my current stuff which I've done before. No, the kind that makes me ashamed of what I've done and threatens to make me never want to pick up a pencil ever again! However, despite the age of the piece I really, REALLY loved the subject matter enough that I have wanted to remake it and really give it justice... years pass and finally that has happened and honestly I couldn't be happier with the result.

While there are many enjoyable factors about The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, the one I keep finding myself harping on is the design of the Zoras. I always found them to be very unappealing in previous Zelda titles, but they really changed that here. They finally have that look of grace and beauty and of all of them I adore Prince Ralis with everything I have. Hands down he's the most adorable character in any Zelda game, just besting Ayrll XD He was just so precious and pure, I just wanted to hug him and take him home. Though sadly, he is cursed to wonder in perpetual obscurity like everything else that wasn't from the Nintendo 64 era of Zelda... (love them as I do, that does irritate me a lot)

But, I'm getting off topic, which I've technically not even stated. Very early on I made the connection between King Zora and Prince Ralis, just in how over the top and fat the king was and how tiny Ralis was. Of course, being the next ruler, it won't be long before he's King Ralis... and I got to thinking, making myself an inane, illogical head canon that I don't care if anyone dislikes, it's my head canon so there XD

That being that it is customary, if not required that all Zora kings (specifically, so don't bring up Ruto or Rutela!) must be enormously fat. Something with reflecting the image of their patron deity Jabu-Jabu and representing their harvest while under their rule but in truth, it was just to have an adorable little Ralis stuffed to the point of overflowing his thrown~<3 His little flippers dangling over the thrown are so adorable!

This also was little more than to fuel a very specific fetish I have... well two really. Fish men type characters and enormous, spoiled royalty... yeah it's specific but I like it. So it all worked out! What minor problems I have with this are easily overlooked. I'm incredibly pleased with this, glad that I could finally remake this image for myself!
