Now that I've had a chance to practice, I started Day One of this project (aka today) by making a rough take with a few layers, trying to get at least something for the entire track. After that, I exported everything onto one file (yay Audacity) and did noise removal and FX in FL Studio. Tomorrow or later today, I'll make more layers, and once some new audio equipment comes in (less than a week), I'll have a mic stand I can stand with and record vocals for the final track.
