I don't really comment super often on stuff.. But this sort of thing. Lets start with that fact that people aren't expected to reciprocate or feel inclined to do anything when given 'gift-art' or 'fan-art'. It's just that, a gift. You don't give a gift expecting anything in return, not even "help" because you're "less talented." I don't even draw and have had people give me fan art out of the blue just because they liked my character, it's enough to bring a tear to your eye when it happens.
Additionally, I hate scum that comment in anon-mode and say something inflammatory..it's like they don't have the guts to say something they think to your face, so they whisper it behind your back. Frankly, if you can't say something loud and proud, shut your mouth completely. I also don't tend to defend artists, this isn't some fan-rant, artists don't need other people's protection in matters like this.
Lastly, I like how you handled this, I see a lot of people blow their top completely when this stuff comes their way, feeding the drama trolls and bottom feeders. Good on you.
