A variant on this ...
Due to not much space, we used to stand the Christmas Tree in a corner. It meant that one side might not get more than a minimal ammount of ornaments. Anyway,it's a moot question now.
2003 - Father died. We stopped setting up a Christmas tree each Dec. We also did not watch the idiots in Time Square on 12-31 anymore, or have deli food at 11 p.m. anymore.
2007 - Mother died. I was alone. I didn't celebrate Christmas anymore. Tree got discarded. Ornaments still remain,but stay in boxes.
