She removes the poncho before battle, if she gets the chance to revealing an outfit more fitting for the tropical environment of Hidden Island. One of the Magister's lieutenants grabbed her by the hair so she cut it to escape and then Stella evened it out.
The nickname "Poncho Cat" was given to her by the village where Ponchos are a rare article of clothing to find and the obvious fact that she is a cat.
