The GOTHAM series on channel 5 appears to be by the same creative(?) team as that of SMALLVILLE, which butchered the story of Superman's early days. I stopped watching after the gory end of episode 2 (man stumbles into a police station, both eyes gouged out !) and the "Dollmaker" was fought but not shown. I was NOT going to be put through what I underwent in SMALLVILLE (where dreams begin to die).
